I just passed the break-in at 600 miles. The bike has settled into its own very well. Myself, I changed the oil and filter at 50 miles, 250 miles, then at 600. I plan on going out to 1,500 miles, then using a sythetic blend oil from then on out. This DRZ 400S is a great commuter bike with benefits.

You decide, race exhaust geared for track use or something with less performance potential (I say potential because without a modified engine you're not losing much at all) but more responsible use off road.
