WebSeems almost like when you're decelerating it keeps the transmission at a high ratio until it's ready to unlock the TC and then shifts down to a lower ratio ready for the next acceleration. (Basically the equivalent of coasting a manual in 5th, then pushing the clutch in and shifting to first as you stop).
