WebAug 2, 2024 · The Goferit inserts are an excellent product. You can get them in standard jeep taper or 1 ton GM if you feel the need for beef. I would get the steering box mounted in the appropriate place first, then work on the steering linkage. Have you considered flipping the tie rod and drag link to the top of the knuckle? WebJun 30, 2013 · I've used the goforit inserts twice in a pitman arm, but in my knuckles I've always used a ream and a tapered insert. The tapered inserts have never been exactly right, so I put the insert in and then ream the hole from the top and it cuts the insert at the same time for proper TRE taper. You can't use a cotter pin with the goforit inserts.
