We present a patient who developed severe hypocalcaemia after administration of denosumab in the context of severe vitamin D deficiency and a normal kidney function. WebHypocalcemia with hypophosphatemia may occur from vitamin D–deficient states. This may result from insufficient sunlight exposure, dietary deficiency of vitamin D, decreased absorption after gastrointestinal surgery, intestinal malabsorption syndromes (steatorrhea), or hepatobiliary disease (primary biliary cirrhosis).
